$199
Format
Video call plus your clips
Turnaround
Written assessment in 5 business days

What is included:

  • Full history intake: background, timeline, triggers, what you have already tried
  • You send short video clips of the behaviors that worry you
  • A 45 to 60 minute video call to walk through it together
  • A written assessment: what we see, what is normal Shiba, what needs work, and a starting plan
  • One 20 minute followup call two weeks later
  • A referral to a certified trainer or veterinary behaviorist when the case needs one

Best for: most behavior questions, where good video tells the story. Reactivity, guarding, recall, and anxiety are usually readable remotely.

  • An in-home or onsite session in Northern California where we watch the dog in real conditions
  • Handling and management notes specific to your space and routine
  • Direct observation of triggers that are hard to film, like the front door or another dog in the home
  • Priority scheduling

Best for: behavior tied to a specific place, a second dog in the home, or anything that does not show up cleanly on camera.

Honest about the fee

What you are paying for.

The fee covers the intake, the video or in-home session, and a written assessment with a starting plan. It is an evaluation and a plan, not a training package. If the assessment shows your dog needs ongoing work, we will tell you what that looks like and who should do it. Virtual track: the $199 fee is due after the intake call and before the video evaluation is scheduled. In-person track: the $349 fee is due at the in-home session. Both settle via Zelle, bank transfer, or check per our Payment Policy. We never publish account details and never request payment by DM, text, or social media.

Who this is for

The behaviors we evaluate.

Aggression and reactivity.

Leash reactivity, barrier frustration, dog-to-dog tension, and the fear-based displays people label as aggression. We help you tell the difference.

Resource guarding.

Guarding food, toys, spaces, or people. Common in Shibas, workable when you read it right.

Separation-related behavior.

Distress when left alone, and the boredom that gets mistaken for it. We help you sort which one you actually have.

Prey drive and recall failure.

A Shiba that bolts, ignores recall, or locks onto squirrels and small animals.

Escaping and door-darting.

Fence climbing, digging, and the front-door bolt that scares every Shiba owner.

New behavior after a change.

Behavior that showed up after a move, a new baby, a new dog, or a rehome.

Honest disclosures

Who this is not for.

Medical issues without a vet workup.

Pain drives a surprising amount of behavior. If the behavior is sudden or the dog may be hurting, see your veterinarian first. We may ask for vet clearance before we book.

Dogs actively biting people.

A dog breaking skin needs a board-certified veterinary behaviorist (DACVB) or a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB). That is above an operator evaluation, and we will refer you rather than take the case.

Anyone wanting a guaranteed quick fix.

This is an honest assessment and a plan. Behavior change takes work after the evaluation ends. We tell you what the work is; we do not promise it will be fast.

Our credentials, stated plainly.

We are not certified behaviorists and we do not claim clinical training. We are operators who have placed and worked with 250+ Shibas since 2019, and we know the breed cold. We tell you honestly which behaviors we can help with and which belong with a board-certified veterinary behaviorist (DACVB) or a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB). When your case is above ours, we refer and we do not pretend otherwise.

You complete the history intake and send short clips of the behavior in context.

The evaluation.

The video call for both tracks, plus the in-home session if you chose in-person.

Written assessment and plan.

Delivered within 5 business days, with a followup call two weeks later.

Frequently asked

Common questions.

Are you certified behaviorists?
No. We are operators who have placed and worked with 250+ Shibas since 2019. For clinical cases like documented bite history or anxiety that may need medication, we refer you to a board-certified veterinary behaviorist (DACVB) or a Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist (CAAB). The evaluation tells you honestly which camp your dog is in.
Virtual or in-person, which do I need?
Most behavior questions are answerable virtually from good video. In-person makes sense when the behavior is hard to capture on camera or tied to a specific place, like the yard, the front door, or another dog in the home.
Do you only work with Shibas?
The evaluation is built around Shiba and primitive-breed behavior. We take Shibas, Shiba mixes, and similar primitive breeds. If your dog is very different, we will tell you on the intake call.
What if my dog has bitten someone?
Tell us on the intake call. A dog actively breaking skin needs a veterinary behaviorist, not us, and we will refer you. We do not take active-bite cases as a first stop.
Is the fee refundable?
The fee covers the evaluation work and is non-refundable once the intake call and assessment are underway. If we decide on the intake call that we are not the right resource, you do not pay.
